A recording by Astor Piazzolla “the single most important figure in the history of tango” will be the first MQA recording to be released on compact disc in Japan. The album is “A. Music technology company MQA and Universal Music Group (UMG), announced today that the two companies have entered into a multi-year agreement that will encode UMG’s extensive catalogue of master recordings in MQA’s technology, promising to make some of the world’s most celebrated recordings available for the first time in Hi-Res Audio streaming.
Jay Z is reportedly selling a stake in his music streaming service Tidal to telecoms company, Sprint. Sprint, which is owned by Japan’s Softbank, will pay an estimated $200m (£162m) for a 33% stake in the company. More »
