Monitor Audio’s new ASB-10 compact Active Soundbar system is engineered to restore the power of an audio and video experience by re-energising HD and UHD pictures with the sound they deserve. Although TV panels deliver ever wider more enveloping pictures, their on-board sound quality is in relative decline. Size limitations imposed by shrinking bezels mean that the speakers within them reproduce only fraction of the bandwidth available from today’s DTV boxes, games consoles and media players. More »

Bryston has announced today the introduction of the AC1 Micro centre channel loudspeaker in order to provide home theater enthusiasts with a high- resolution center speaker option in a compact form factor.
The design objective of the AC1 Micro was to deliver big sound from a smaller, décor-friendly enclosure. The AC1 Micro is said to be a great fit for tight spaces.
“We received valuable feedback from our dealers and end-users that we needed to add a compact center speaker for space-constrained home theater systems—and the AC1 Micro is the ultimate execution of that design goal,” explained Bryston’s VP of sales James Tanner.
The Bryston AC1 Micro utilizes two 5¼ inch aluminum cone mid-bass drivers on either side of a single Bryston titanium dome tweeter. Like all Bryston loudspeakers, the drivers are anchored to a robust enclosure constructed of ¾ inch MDF with ample internal bracing. The cabinet is a sealed design. The rear panel also includes threaded mounting holes for optional on-wall brackets.
The Bryston AC1 Micro has an MSRP of $490 each and is available now through authorized Bryston retailers and custom integrators.
KEF has announced the launch of a brand new high gloss piano white edition of its famous LS50 speaker. The original LS50 first appeared in 2012, has received numerous international awards and having heard them several times myself they sure are good.
The original LS50 was designed to celebrate KEF’s 50th anniversary, and was conceived as a ‘mini monitor’ derived from the legendary LS3/5a, to bring professional studio monitor performance into the home.
At the LS50’s heart beats the highly KEF Uni-Q driver as mentioned. The new high gloss piano white LS50s have a blue Uni-Q driver and should appeal to a wider audience than the original coloured LS50s I feel.
