NEW LUMIN D3 NETWORK MUSIC PLAYER LAUNCHED

Building on the success of the LUMIN D1 and D2, the LUMIN D3 Network Music Player has now been launched by the Hong Kong-based HiFi brand.

Unveiled at the Hong Kong AV Show 2023, last weekend, the LUMIN D3 Network Music Player inherits the Sabre DAC technology used throughout their range and combines it with a new all-aluminium compact chassis, that eliminates the steel used in the D2.

The LUMIN D3 Network Music Player features the latest processor to provide greater resampling flexibility. Its new analogue output stage features a Sabre DAC and a buffer including LUMIN X1 technology.

The new DAC configuration uses the Sabre DAC ES9028PRO chip. The  D3 retains a fully balanced design including XLR outputs and has the new surface finish taken from the high-end P1. The finish shows fingerprints less readily and comes in silver or black.

STREAMING FORMATS

With upsampling and downsampling to every supported format up to DSD256/PCM384, the LUMIN D3 Network Music Player is TIDAL Connect and Airplay 2 compatible as well as being Roon Ready and supporting Spotify Connect, MQA, TIDAL, Qobuz, Plex and TuneIn.

LEEDH PROCESSING

The Leedh Processing Lossless volume control, a digital volume adjustment algorithm that is designed to eliminate rounding errors is now included (at no additional cost) on all LUMIN players. Leedh Processing has been created by Gilles Millot of French brand Acoustical Beauty, it has now been adopted by several High End HiFi brands including LUMIN, Soulution and Metronome Kalista.

LUMIN D3 NETWORK MUSIC PLAYER PRICE AND AVAILABILITY

The LUMIN D3 Network Music Player is expected to be available in Europe in September with a price of around 2,570€, USA price is $2,600.

In the UK the  LUMIN D3 will be available in October 2023. Typical retail price (inc VAT): £2,195
