WHAT’S NEW IN CHALLENGER II

Woofer with twice increased Xmax

Xmax represents the maximum linear excursion of the driver’s cone in one direction. In simpler terms, it’s a measure of how far the cone can move from its resting position while still producing a linear response.

Volume and Distortion. Increased Xmax allows the woofer to achieve higher sound levels with reduced distortion. This is because the driver can handle larger input signals without the cone’s movement becoming non-linear.

Efficiency. Woofers with elevated Xmax values demonstrate enhanced efficiency in transforming electrical energy into acoustic output, particularly at lower frequencies.

Broader Dynamic Capabilities. With a higher excursion capability, the woofer can reproduce a wider range of dynamics.

Upgraded crossover with Treble and Bass switches

Upgraded crossover with switches to adjust treble or bass levels can be quite beneficial for several reasons:

Tailored Sound to Room Acoustics. Every room has its unique acoustic properties, influenced by its size, shape, and contents (such as furniture and wall materials). These factors can dramatically affect the perceived balance of bass and treble.
