Brass Funk Band Lucky Chops Release Debut Album

New York’s premier brass funk band Lucky Chops have just released their self-titled debut album. It follows a series of inventive cover songs that have amassed millions of plays via Spotify and other digital platforms.

‘Lucky Chops’ showcases the quintet’s high energy, genre-fusing sound, introducing modern production techniques and catchy sing-along hooks to best pair with their epic live performances. They are currently on a European tour to promote the album that will culminate with five UK and Ireland shows in November.

A video for a new single entitled ’Traveler’ has also just been made available. A dazzling work of art, it was directed by a Hamburg based team led by Raman Djafari.

Lucky Chops initially gained fame busking in the subways of NYC and broke out after a mash-up video of ‘Funkytown’ by Lipps Inc and ‘I Feel Good’ by James Brown went viral. They soon amassed over a million subscribers across social media and began building a global audience, which led to overseas touring. This has included recent visits to the UK that have seen them both headline and support the likes of Gogol Bordello.

The group members had first connected at the renowned Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School in Manhattan and formed officially in 2006, on a mission to share the inspirational and healing power of music. They are also dedicated to supporting music education and regularly perform at clinics and educational outreaches to help train and inspire the next generation of musicians.
