Music First Audio became well known in 2003 for launching their transformer passive preamplifier, now in this exclusive news to Hifi Pig, Jonathan Billington is launching his Reference V2 Pre Amplifier.

All Music First Audio products are handmade in Hastings, East Sussex, on the South English coast.

Music First Audios new preamplifier has full 60 position transformer attenuation, remote control on source and volume. There’s 60 x 1dB steps of attenuation plus a mute setting via a series of, low noise, low contact resistance, small-signal instrument grade relays. The 60 position RX63/60 attenuation transformers are mounted in separate shielding cases mounted at right angles, on a double layer of rubber isolation.

There are six pairs of inputs via any combination of RCA or XLR and four pairs of outputs via any combination of RCA or XLR.

Tape Out Option

The optional full volume tape out can be configured to use RCA or XLR connections.

Styling

The printing colours on the front panel can be specified to the customer’s choice.

The Pre Amplifier measures 415 mm wide, 405 mm deep and 100 mm height. It weighs in at 8Kg.
