Atlas cables of Scotland have launched their new Achromatic plug, RCA and Z, plus a new Element Achromatic RCA Cable.

This new low mass, solderless, cold weld, low contact resistance connectors are the result of years of continuous R&D. The new plugs are available now and will replace existing Integra variants or RCA and Z plugs across the Atlas range.

Achromatic means without colour. That small statement defines the design and sonic characteristics of all Atlas cables. Atlas Cables at its heart want to transfer Audio and Video signal from one component to another with as little interference and or distortion as possible.

The Achromatic RCA

Achromatic RCA is a completely new design with enhancements throughout including Improved body material, now using high stability ABS, improved plug contact geometry to increase contact and self-cleaning action. Atlas has reduced the mass of the plug by 8% and have improved rifling of the RCA pin to improve the alignment during manufacture. All in all, the Plug is solder-free, low mass, has a nonconductive body, is self-cleaning and can even be recycled.

Achromatic speaker Z

The new Atlas Achromatic Z plug has 35% less mass compared to the outgoing Integra. The body material is high stability ABS.

Element Achromatic RCA Cable

The new Element Achromatic is the latest iteration of the entry-level Element cable.

It features Increased OCC copper content which has been reconfigured to reduce inter-strand distortion and reduce deletions. There are new foamed polyethylene dielectrics, improved cable geometry to stabilise the concentricity along the complete length of cable. It also features the completely new Achromatic plug design. Solder free, low mass, conductive high stability plug body. with self-cleaning contacts and a rifled pin profile to deliver consistent conductor alignment in the crimping process (cold weld).
