Autotech, the Polish manufacturer of front loaded horns, Diy horns and waveguide loudspeakers have contacted us to tell us that they will be in attendance at this years High End show in Munich (May 3-6).
They will have on demonstration the Universum 3-way horn (Pictured) which uses the JMLC-200T mid and JMLC-1400 high frequency horns. This interesting looking loudspeaker uses premium drivers and an aperiodic vented bass enclosure with a 15” driver. The construction methods and horn contour used are said to give a “smooth and relaxed sound” with very low distortion figures and a “wonderfully natural sound”.
Making their World-wide premier at the show will be Autotech’s “SEOS Front Panels” (not the most glamorous of names, but we are told this is a working title) which are designed primarily for the US market and are available either as a kit or finished loudspeaker. Further details and photographs were unavailable, but we did learn that they use B&C drivers and an active aluminium subwoofer.
Finally the company will be demonstrating the very interesting looking Mummy loudspeaker which is a high efficiency (96db) 2 way unit, using a 12” bass unit and a 1” compression driver coupled to a ellipsoidal waveguide. The chassis is extremely rigid and made from well damped fibre-glass. Because of their high efficiency they are said to be suitable with all amplifiers from flea powered SETs to high powered monsters.
Autotech will be in room F231 B. More information can be obtained from Autotech in Poland, GPoint-Audio in the UK.
