THE THIRD GEN COMPACT AVANTGARDE ACOUSTIC UNO HORN LOUDSPEAKER

Just before Christmas, we brought you the details and pricing of the German Horn specialist’s new DUO GT AND DUO SD, now here’s their little sister, the G3 Avantgarde Acoustic UNO SD.

AVANTGARDE ACOUSTIC G3 MODELS

G3 stands for “Generation 3”, the successor and next step up from the Avantgarde Acoustic XD series. Starting with the original Generation 1 models in 1993, this is the second time in thirty years that the German horn manufacturer has completely renewed their products and technologies. One of the standout new technologies of this new generation is the iTRON fully active modules, an option that turns the speakers into High End plug and play systems.

AVANTGARDE ACOUSTIC UNO SD

The new Avantgarde Acoustic UNO SD is the German brand’s most compact statement loudspeaker and an entry into the world of their classic horn designs. It shares features with the rest of the new G3 family including the spikes and a new colour and finish palette. The UNO also has the NatureCap, Avantgarde’s proprietary super-capacitor, plus the G3 crossover, E Fuse, electronics, G3 modular technology and Coplanar driver arrangement.

BASS UNIT

The UNO SD has a new 10 inch XB10 driver with a 152mm voice coil. The membrane is a composite of long-fibre paper and carbon fibre. The bass amplifier has a 600 Watt power output, processor-controlled active filters and the new G3 user interface for programming.

MIDRANGE UNIT

The Avantgarde Acoustic UNO SD midrange makes use of the new, improved XM1 Evolution driver, has 107dB efficiency with 18 Ohm Omega technology and has a smaller horn than the DUO models, a 500mm spherical midrange horn.

TWEETER UNIT

The new XT2 Supertweeter unit features a new 160mm tweeter horn with 145mm length, the new improved XT2 Evolution driver, and an annular diaphragm with duplex suspension. It has an extended frequency range up to 22,000 Hz
