Naim Audio owners are now able to get a new range of Chord Company designed and built Burndy upgrade cables, the dedicated power supply interconnects (carrying signal and power) used in many of Naim’s high-end products.
Every Chord Company Burndy cable is handmade to order and uses the company’s flagship shielding system, comprising silver-plated copper conductors, the Taylon proprietary insulation*, an acoustic braid, plus an anti-EMF braid, all protected by a black nylon outer jacket.
ChordBurndy History
The Burndy design project was inspired by a number of factors: the original ChordBurndy developments, the Burndy-equipped Naim Audio NAP 300 amplifier used extensively in Chord Company’s listening room and the company’s origins in designing and building audio cables for Naim when it first formed back in 1985. With the NAP 300 available during the development of the Burndy cables, Chord Company found its proprietary shielding upgrades offered the biggest improvements.
Naim NAP 300
Doug Maxwell, Chord Company’s Sales Director said, “We are delighted to be able to offer Naim users a clear upgrade path for their Burndy-equipped devices. The project has been both a fascinating and personal one for us, as we use a Burndy-equipped Naim NAP 300 in our listening room.
“We developed several prototypes and found getting individual improvements straightforward, however, we wanted the Burndy cables to transform our system. That’s why we chose to use our best materials and design techniques to create something that outperforms across all genres.”
