Dynaudio, the Danish loudspeaker manufacturer, has launched Xeo 10, the successor to the Xeo 2 wireless active bookshelf speaker. The Xeo 10’s 14cm MSP woofer system has been reworked to enhance bass and lower-midrange performance. The 28mm soft-dome tweeter is the same design featured on the Xeo 2.

Each driver is powered by its own dedicated 65W digital amplifier, tuned and optimised specifically for the driver it’s powering. Dynaudio has also completely re-tuned the DSP-based crossover from the Xeo 2. The revamp takes lessons from the company’s top-of-the-range Focus XD wireless active speaker family, which itself was re-tuned in 2017.

The Xeo 10 retains the Xeo 2’s acoustically inert composite cabinet and improves the solid aluminium baffle’s finish. There’s also a new remote control to bring it in line with the Xeo 20 standmounter and Xeo 30 floorstanders. The new handset controls the optional Dynaudio Connect box, too (which offers additional inputs and wireless features).Round the back of the cabinet are physical inputs for digital optical, RCA stereo and 3.5mm minijack connections, while on the top are touch-sensitive volume and power controls. The Xeo 10 comes in Black Satin (with a black baffle) and White Satin (with a natural aluminium baffle) finishes.

Otto Jørgensen, product manager, says: “I’m amazed at how much performance we managed to get out of the Xeo 10. The Xeo 2 was so good… but the team in Dynaudio Labs has surpassed itself. To get this kind of power and finesse out of such a small, convenient speaker is nothing short of astonishing”.
