ESOTERIC GRANDIOSO T1 TURNTABLE LAUNCHED TO CELEBRATE 35^TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE HIGH END JAPANESE BRAND

Japanese HiFi brand Esoteric has launched their first ever turntable to celebrate their 35^th anniversary, it is now available after its unveiling at High End Munich earlier this year.

The first-ever turntable in Esoteric’s history, the Esoteric Grandioso T1 features a new patent-registered contact-free drive mechanism, called the Esoteric MagneDrive System. Esoteric was created 35 years ago as the high-end offering from TEAC.

ESOTERIC MAGNEDRIVE SYSTEM

The contact-free Esoteric MagneDrive System has been designed to synchronise the rotations of the magnetic driver and the platter, with the aim of achieving a completely quiet rotation at an “extraordinarily accurate” rotation speed. This is achieved by eliminating mechanical contacts, such as belt, rim or motor, from the turntable to avoid irregularities of speed that these can cause. The MagneDrive system also means that you have no parts like belts to replace. The system also allows for adjustability of sonic characteristics of the Esoteric Grandioso T1 Turntable by manually changing the distance between the platter and the driver, controlled by the Micrometer knob on the front panel.

The Esoteric Grandioso T1 Turntable features a 10MHz Clock Sync capability for the motor drive unit and a three-piece independent chassis configuration and the Japanese brand says that it is the culmination of its unique design philosophy and mechanical/electronic technology. The three-piece configuration comprises of the main unit, motor unit, and power supply unit.

MAGNE-FLOAT PLATTER

The Magne-Float platter has been designed to greatly reduce spindle bearing friction by reducing platter’s effective mass from 19kg down to approximately 4kg. An inverted bearing system supports smooth rotation of the platter.

CHASSIS

The triple-layer chassis is made of aluminium and wood, to control vibration. The mid-chassis is coated with a high gloss piano lacquer. The isolation feet have a special damping mechanism that is designed to eliminate external vibration. The turntable has two-speed control (33/45 rpm), adjustable by 0.1%.

TONEARM

The Esoteric Grandioso T1 Turntable is available with or without a TA-9D dynamic balance tonearm, there is also an optional arm-board to allow the addition of up to three tonearms.
