From 18 to 21 May 2017 the time comes around again for the world’s biggest audio fair to open its doors at the MOC site in Munich. The HIGH END is indisputably the number one international meeting point for audio enthusiasts and has been an institution for many years. It is the oldest and biggest fair of its kind and has become firmly established in the course of more than three decades.
This year it will be taking place for the 36th time in succession. Last year more than 500 exhibitors from over 40 countries presented their products and services. Delegations from all corners of the world travel to Munich to see what’s happening on the market and in the industry. The fair is now without doubt an established and central hub of the industry worldwide, with manufacturers, importers, distributors, suppliers and retailers from all over the world meeting every year in Munich. The fair passed a special milestone last year with more than 7,000 trade visitors for the first time.
With its broad-based range of products and services, the HIGH END has established itself as the industry’s leading marketplace, because it includes the entire spectrum of the audio market – from analogue to digital. Whatever your budget and whatever your age, there’s something for every music lover. The range covers everything: from small systems for getting started, beautifully crafted, exclusive music systems, car sound and headphones, right though to record players and traditional valve amplifiers. The HIGH END shows the whole spectrum and offers an enormous range of products on an exhibition space covering more than 28,000 square metres.
Last year, the HIGH END occupied the entire MOC site, using all four halls and 140 adjacent demonstration booths in the upper atria.
The fair provides a unique insight into the future market for the international audio industry and presents innovations from all over the world. By constantly adapting to the changing demands of the market, the fair always remains attractive and up-to-date. Nowhere else in the world can technology fans and music lovers alike see and hear so many products and find out such a wide range of information.
The consumer electronics industry is experiencing a radical transformation in the midst of an era of digitalisation and virtualisation. Ease of availability and new consumer habits mean that today people are listening to more music than ever before. Concepts such as streaming and multi-room systems are becoming ever more popular. This means one of the biggest future trends is in user-friendly digital all-round devices. More and more consumers are combining very different devices in their own homes and using intelligent connection systems that offer more convenience, security, entertainment and above all, cost- and energy savings. The HIGH END provides important impetus for tomorrow’s music systems and reflects trends in the industry.
As well as many wonderful product presentations, the fair has a varied programme of side events, including live music, numerous talks, workshops, music presentations and fascinating demonstrations. A new attraction at the trade fair is the headphones listening bar, which was very busy last year. Here, visitors can become audio testers themselves, directly comparing different headphone models using identical high-quality music clips.
The HIGH END begins with a special day for trade visitors.
