What a year it’s turning out to be for Kidsmoke! The Welsch band are preparing for their debut LP after a successful US debut at South by Southwest, which caught the attention of Austin label Big Indie. They teamed up with EARMILK earlier this week to share their first single for the label, the driving, dream pop gem “She Takes You Under”.

Known for their trademark ability to write sweet and sunny hooks, this track is no exception. The single is filled with sparkling synths, driving beats and shimmering harmonies, creating a sound akin to the likes of Sunflower Bean or Bombay Bicycle Club’s pastoral pop soundscapes. She Takes You Under once again showcases Kidsmoke’s capability to create crisp, shoegaze-tinged pop that can transport you straight into the sunshine.

he Wrexham four-piece are Lance (Vocals/Guitar), James (Bass/Vocals), Sophie (Guitar/Vocals) and Ash (Drums), who have already made a name for themselves in their native North Wales. They have also already received recognition from across the pond, having played at SXSW earlier this year and their previous single Passenger making it onto the esteemed NPR Austin 100 list. They have also received support from The Line of Best Fit, Earmilk, Indie Shuffle and BTR Today, as well as BBC 6 Music’s Steve Lamacq and BBC Radio Wales’ Adam Walton,  to name a few. They have also had a sync-feature on Charlie Brooker’s Black Mirror series under their belts, as well also supporting Supergrass’ Gaz Coombes previously.
