Dan of Dan George Communications got in touch to tell us the company has been appointed by Leema Acoustics to handle its UK PR. Leema was founded by two ex-BBC sound engineers, both of whom have a long history in pro and domestic audio.
Following the success of their first product, the diminutive Xen loudspeaker released in 1998, Mallory and Lee decided to turn their expertise to audio electronics. Their first product, the Tucana integrated amplifier, was released early in 2006 but since then Leema’s portfolio of products has expanded to include their Reference and Elements Ranges, and more recently the Essentials line.
Earlier in 2014, the company merged with two of its component suppliers giving greater control over its efficiency and production. Founders Lee Taylor and Mallory Nicholls (Leema) still lead all of the company’s design work, with everything being hand-made in Wales using UK- and European-sourced components.
Dan George, owner at Dan George Communications said: “ I’m thrilled to welcome Leema Acoustics, a company whose products I’d always championed as a hi-fi journalist and magazine editor. With respected ex-BBC engineers Lee Taylor and Mallory Nicholls continuing to drive the brand, plus the recent merger strengthening the business, I’m looking forward to helping Leema Acoustics develop its exciting plans for the future, including new product launches in the coming months.”
Leema Acoustics founder Lee Taylor added: “We are very excited that Dan George Communications is representing Leema Acoustics. Our involvement with Dan spans several years, first as a journalist and now as our PR representative. This brings a dynamic and professional interface to the business and we all look forward to working with Dan.”
Founded in 1998, Leema Acoustics’ incorporates the latest technology into a product range that covers electronics, loudspeakers and cables, delivering “complete high-performance audio solutions to consumers, with the benefits of expert design, UK hand- assembly and local component sourcing”.
