GENERATION Z LUXMAN L-507Z INTEGRATED AMPLIFIER AND UPDATED LUXMAN PD-151 MKII TURNTABLE LAUNCHED
Following the launch of the flagship M-10x Power Amplifier earlier this year, the first Gen Z integrated stereo amp from Japanese HiFi brand Luxman is available this month, with the MKII version of its popular PD-151 turntable following in September.
LUXMAN L-507Z INTEGRATED AMPLIFIER
The L-507Z is the first of Luxman’s new ‘Z’ generation of integrated stereo amplifiers. It features Luxman’s LIFES amplifier feedback engine, as used in the new flagship M-10X power amp, with a rated output of 110W per channel into eight ohms and Luxman’s build quality and signature VU meters.
It features several new technologies including Luxman’s new LECUA1000 88-step, electronically controlled attenuator and power supply circuit featuring a custom-made EI-type power transformer and newly developed, large-capacity filter capacitors. For headphone users, newly designed parallel headphone outputs have been added. In addition to the standard φ6.3mm output, a new φ4.4mm output has been added, with independent left and right ground wiring.
LUXMAN LIFES VERSION 1.0
LIFES, or the Luxman Integrated Feedback Engine System, Version 1.0 is Luxman’s new amplification feedback engine. As Luxman prepare to celebrate their 100th anniversary in 2025, they announced the successor to their ODNF feedback circuitry, which has contributed to the audio quality of their amplifier products since 1999. They have developed a new amplifier feedback circuit, LIFES. LIFES is based on the technical concept of the ODNF circuit and realizes “excellent, dynamic characteristics” without feeding back any of the original audio input signal to the main amplifier. The design has been conceived and expanded upon from first principles using simulation technology and research. In producing LIFES Version 1.0, by carefully reimagining the entire circuit, Luxman succeeded in reducing the number of paralleled elements while improving performance. The distortion in the amplification stage has been reduced to less than half of their previous system. The output stage features a 3-stage Darlington triple-paralleled push-pull configuration and achieves a class AB power output of 110W+110W (8Ω) and 210W+210W (4Ω).

LUXMAN PD-151 MKII TURNTABLE
Introduced in 2018, the PD-151 was the most accessible of Luxman’s two existing turntable designs and was praised for its engineering and simplicity.
Four years on and the Luxman PD-151 MKII Turntable model is ready to launch, with a 4kg aluminium platter, newly designed brushless DC motor and new S-shaped tonearm with ‘knife edge’ bearing technology.
