Montreal based producer Matveï debuts “Distance (feat. Alyss)” from his forthcoming EP via Kitsuné Musique. Brought up on Rap and EDM, Matveï mixes an exciting cocktail of house and urban club, imprinting on the sounds of KAYTRANADA, Disclosure, Sam Gellaitry and other artists of the like.

Twenty-year-old French Canadian producer Matveï is a living embodiment of the emerging Escape Room genre movement, quite literally “escaping” traditional categorization to any one genre.

Spotted by hype Parisian Label Kitsuné Musique at just 18 years old, his first releases on Maison Kitsuné Compilation 18 and Parisien IV raised his profile to international tastemakers radar, garnering support from Martin Garrix and R3hab as well as official remixes for the likes of Future Classic. Matveï also provided production for rising Brooklyn rapper Thutmose’s single “Ok Ok” featuring vocal chops from Desiigner.

Now Matveï is ready to unveil his debut EP and take over North America, starting with his first single “Distance (feat. Alyss)”.

“With ‘Distance’ my intention was to create a melodic/energetic peak time club track. It’s obviously house but I didn’t want it to sound like a classic house record, therefore I blended elements from different genres in it. I also enjoy vocal chops so it’s only normal you hear them as the main element in the drop or as backing vocals” – Matveï

Matveï is a one’s to watch of the new generation.
