MICHELL APOLLO PHONO STAGE LAUNCHES WITH MUSE POWER SUPPLY

British turntable manufacturer Michell Audio unveiled the Michell Apollo phono stage, at The Bristol HiFi Show 2025, over last weekend.

Distributed by PMC Distribution UK, the Apollo is accompanied by the Muse power supply, a two-box solution aimed at reducing unwanted noise for audiophiles and vinyl enthusiasts.

MICHELL APOLLO PHONO STAGE AND MUSE POWER SUPPLY

Noise is a critical challenge in phono stages, and Michell has tackled this by physically separating the power supply from the pre-amplifier stage. Both the Apollo and Muse enclosures are machined from solid aluminium, acting as Faraday cages to shield against external interference. A custom linking cable further isolates the power supply from interference while maintaining signal integrity.

The Michell Apollo phono stage employs Class A preamplifiers that use technology derived from professional microphone amplifiers, known for their ability to handle low-level signals with precision. This, combined with a finely tuned passive RIAA circuit and robust regulation and feedback systems, ensures high-fidelity performance.

MM AND MC CARTRIDGES

The Apollo is compatible with both moving magnet (MM) and moving coil (MC) cartridges, offering user-adjustable load and gain settings via DIP switches located on the underside of the unit. This flexibility allows users to tailor the performance to their specific setup.

HIGH-QUALITY POWER DELIVERY

The Muse power supply is built around a low-noise toroidal transformer, an advanced capacitance multiplier, and high-grade voltage regulators to minimise ripple and noise. An additional power supply circuit within the Apollo further refines the DC supply to ensure clean and stable power reaches the amplification stages.

UK MANUFACTURED WITH AUDIOPHILES IN MIND

Every component of the Apollo and Muse has been engineered to preserve the detail, atmosphere, and emotion of vinyl playback. The Michell Apollo phono stage and Muse power supply will be available from March 2025 through Michell retailers across the UK. PMC Distribution UK will be hosting retailer events from March to June to showcase the Apollo, Muse, and the full range of Michell turntables and accessories. The Apollo, Muse, and connecting cable will retail for £3,500.
