Denon has announced its latest integrated network amplifier, the PMA-150H.

The PMA-150H connects all popular digital and analogue sources, features a USB-DAC, FM/DAB+ radio tuner and – thanks to HEOS Built-in technology – enables access to music over Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Apple Airplay 2, Spotify Connect, and more. The new unit uses Advanced AL32 Processing Plus analogue waveform reproduction technology and Direct Digital Feedback Amplification (DDFA).

The PMA-150H is compatible with ALAC, FLAC and WAV lossless files up to 192 kHz/24-bit, as well as DSD 2.8MHz and 5.6MHz tracks (the audiophile format of SACD). There’s an onboard USB-DAC that features PCM 384 kHz/32bit and DSD file playback capability.

The PMA-150H features an FM/DAB+ radio tuner, two analogue RCA inputs, two optical inputs, one digital coaxial input, and USB-A and B inputs. The USB-A input will support thumb drives with WMA, MP3, AAC, WAV/FLAC/ALAC 192/24, DSD up to 5.6MHz files. From a computer, high-resolution output is also possible via the USB-B input, powering PCM signals up to 384 kHz/32bit and DSD up to 11.2MHz. Additionally, listeners can connect CD players, turntables, TVs, and more.

With HEOS Built-in, listeners can enjoy music from Amazon Music, Spotify (Premium & Free), TIDAL, TuneIn Internet Radio, SoundCloud, Napster, Deezer or local music file libraries. The PMA-150H also offers Bluetooth connectivity, providing access to music from any smart device. AirPlay 2 compatibility ensures users can stream wirelessly from any Apple device to the PMA-150H, or group the amplifier with other AirPlay compatible speakers. HEOS Built-in additionally enables listeners to enjoy their favourite music in any room, creating a wireless, whole-home audio experience using HEOS Built-in speakers, soundbars, systems and/or receivers. Play the same song in every room, or select a different song for each connected room. Where available, users can employ their voice to control key functions of the PMA-150H with Amazon Alexa, Apple Siri and the Google Assistant.

Denon say it has “leveraged its AV receiver engineering expertise to build autosensing into the first optical port and simplified IR learn to easily connect to most TVs”. Once enabled, volume, mute and input selection can be controlled via a TV remote.
