PMC was chosen to provide the sound system for the Music Week Awards after party, held at Tape London earlier this week.

Music Week’s Award is an event for the music industry, with awards presented to the record labels, publishing, live, retail, A&R, radio, marketing and PR functions. The official After Show Party was staged in London’ venue, Tape London, which is also a Platinum Partner with Music Week.

Tape is the recent winner of Best Club at the London Bar and Club Awards in addition to Best Late Venue at the World Lifestyle Awards. Tape prides itself on offering “an elegant party experience for its elite, global crowd, which has included the likes of Will.I.Am, Justin Bieber, Mick Jagger, Rita Ora, Ellie Goulding, Lewis Hamilton and many others”. Tape also regularly hosts performances by some of the biggest artists in the world, including Lady Gaga, Drake, Rudimental, Puff Daddy, The Weeknd, Wiz Khalifa, John Legend and Travis Scott.

For such an event the partners of Tape London needed to use the very best playback system and so approached PMC to request its BB5 XBD Active monitors. They feature twin 15” RadialTM bass drivers, partnered with PMC’s 75mm dome midrange together with a PMC 34mm tweeter. For the Tape London event, PMC augmented the BB5s with two extra XBD cabinets, which features a further 15” Radial driver each, providing extra bass extension.

Antony Adel, managing partner at Tape, says of the PMC system, “With an audience made up of the leading lights of the music industry, we knew we had to provide the very best audio experience we possibly could. There was no hesitation in our contacting PMC, as their reputation within the professional music world is well-known and without equal.” He continues, “The fantastic reception that the playback received last night, from the guests and organisers, is testament to the incredible sound quality the PMC speakers provided and we are very pleased to have been able to work with the company to put this system together.”

Peter Thomas, owner and managing director of PMC, adds his thoughts, “The Music Week Awards have long been respected for the recognition they give to all the people in the music industry who make it happen, often behind the scenes and without the high profiles of the artists. They really understand the importance of using the best speakers and so it was our pleasure and privilege to be asked to provide the ultimate in playback systems for the party and we would like to thank the team at Tape London for choosing PMC.”
