QUAD TRUE RIBBON TWEETER
Central to the Revela models’ performance is the QUAD True Ribbon high-frequency driver. Developed over four years, this latest iteration of QUAD’s iconic ribbon driver has a thin aluminium foil ribbon in a magnetic field.
MID AND BASS DRIVERS
QUAD’s innovative Reveal diaphragm technology takes centre stage in the mid/bass drivers. By combining wood pulp and artificial fibres, this unique formulation “enhances transparency, detail, and bass control”, says QUAD. Both Revela models incorporate custom rubber surrounds with damping layers to enable optimal crossover integration with the ribbon treble unit.
QUAD REVELA 1 AND QUAD REVELA 2 CABINET DESIGN
The engineering extends to the cabinet design, featuring optimally stressed panels with radiused edges to minimize diffraction effects. Bass reflex ports on the back – one for the Revela 1 and two for the Revela 2 – employ longitudinal splines for efficient airflow.. Internal damping employs a mixture of acoustic foam and long-hair fibre, absorbing reflections and standing waves without compromising bass reflex efficiency.
PETER COMEAU
QUAD’s Director of Acoustic Design, Peter Comeau, underscored the significance of these speakers, stating, “These are QUAD’s first new speakers for seven years, and we have worked tirelessly to ensure they embody the natural sonic realism that is the hallmark of QUAD, in line with the company’s traditional dictum: ‘The closest approach to the original sound’.”
QUAD REVELA 1 AND QUAD REVELA 2 PRICING
The Revela 1 and Revela 2 speakers will be available starting September at recommended retail prices of £1,799 and £3,499 per pair, respectively.

HiFi PiG Says: The new QUAD Revela 1 and 2 will keep the brand’s fans happy after a long seven year wait.
