The Silent Angel Genesis GX Word Clock features four individual Word Clocks, including two 25 MHz units. All four clock units are critically spaced and electrically isolated in their optimised enclosure to eliminate interference and noise. A critically positioned EMI absorber is used to eliminate electrical noise.

FOUR WORD CLOCKS IN ONE UNIT

The four independent, 25MHz and 10MHz Word Clocks with gold-plated output connectors are housed in a single, optimized chassis. Each clock unit includes its own TCXO clock and circuitry designed to eliminate potential signal interference.

A Radar-Grade switching power supply module, a technology exclusive to noise-sensitive acoustic equipment, is used to provide a stable, low-ripple-noise power source.

CHASSIS

The chassis design combines of two layers of different, carefully chosen materials: the inner layer is galvanized steel while the outer layer is thick, high-quality aluminium alloy. This construction is designed to maximize shielding and control of eddy currents while damping vibration and noise.

A 12V DC power jack bypasses Genesis’ internal switching power module, enabling connection to an external linear power supply such as the Silent Angel Forester F2. Genesis GX also matches perfectly with Silent Angel’s “Audio-grade” network switches Bonn NX and N8 Pro.

VIBRATION DAMPING ISOLATORS

Made of solid, high-purity stainless steel, Silent Angel’s Resonance Control Feet are designed to dampen mechanical energy from both internal and external sources, reducing mechanical and electrical noise, static electricity, etc.

25MHZ FREQUENCY

Silent Angel says that 10MHz is the most common Word Clock frequency at the present time; however, this frequency was initially chosen for GPS equipment and not optimized for audio. Silent Angel tells us: “After exhaustive testing, our R&D team discovered that the ideal frequency for audio and networking devices is 25MHz. Silent Angel created Genesis GX with a single goal: to deliver the best audio quality possible. Genesis GX provides both 25MHz and 10MHz word clock outputs”.

Silent Angel say that their TCXO (Temperature Compensation Crystal Oscillator) is more precise and stable than the Crystal Clocks found some products, lowering latency issues and jitter effects.
