VANA, Ltd.has announced the arrival of the European Audio Team (E.A.T) E-Glo S Hybrid Phono Preamplifier, in the USA. The beautifully designed E-Glo S delivers what enthusiasts expect from a tube preamplifier, yet also utilises solid state circuitry in a hybrid array.
The E.A.T. E-Glo S employs 12AX7/ECC83 tubes (twin triode) in the first and second gain stages, achieving higher gain and lower noise by also using two low-noise J-FET transistors. To make adjustments of the loading user friendly for both Moving Magnet (MM) and Moving Coil (MC) cartridge designs, the E-Glo S features a series switches and LED indicators on the front and top panels avoiding the more difficult chore of opening the unit to access jumpers or recessed controls like many phono preamps.
An advanced outboard power supply serves to eliminate the need for a large transformer mounted internally, reducing noise as well as the overall chassis size of the E-Glo S. Another key feature is a superbly executed subsonic filter that can be activated/deactivated by the user as needed. The subsonic filter improves clarity when any ultra-low frequency noise is present, as is common when playing a warped LP record.
The E.A.T. E-Glo S is available now with Macassar wood or Gloss Black side panels. US MSRP is $2995.
