MCINTOSH AND MERIDIAN NEW IN CAR SYSTEMS

McIntosh Laboratory has announced two new in-car McIntosh Entertainment Systems for Jeep and Meridian Audio and Kia Corporation are working together on in-car audio.

MCINTOSH FOR JEEP GRAND WAGONEER 2022

The McIntosh MX1375 Reference Entertainment System and the MX950 Entertainment System are going to hit the road in the upcoming 2022 Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer.  Both vehicles will be available in mid-2021 and follow on from McIntosh developing a sound system for the Grand Wagoneer Concept that debuted last autumn.

The McIntosh MX1375 Reference Entertainment System (RES) has been designed and engineered including many McIntosh technologies from their home entertainment systems. They also feature Adaptive 3D Surround Processing for “an immersive acoustic experience”.

McIntosh has designed two new in car systems for Jeep Grand Wagoneer 2022

The McIntosh MX1375 Reference Entertainment System will be available exclusively in the Grand Wagoneer. The MX1375 employs 23 specifically tuned speakers, including a 12-inch subwoofer, and is powered by a 24-channel 1375-watt amplifier. Exclusive to the MX1375 is unique Adaptive 3D Surround Processing capabilities for an immersive listening experience.

The McIntosh MX950 Entertainment System will be available in Grand Wagoneer Series I and Series II and Wagoneer Series III models. The MX950 features 19 custom-tuned speakers, including a 10-inch subwoofer, and a 17-channel amplifier producing up to 950 watts of pure power.

MERIDIAN FOR KIA K8

British brand Meridian is further expanding its automotive business, working with Kia launching a purpose-designed 14-speaker surround sound system for the Kia K8.

The K8 is the first vehicle within the Kia range to feature Meridian. The 14-speaker audio system has been engineered by the experts at Meridian and features several of the British audio pioneer’s proprietary DSP technologies. Meridian’s core sound philosophy has been integrated into the K8.

The K8 features Meridian Horizon, an upmixing technology that provides multi-channel audio from two-channel stereo content, as well as centre image and ambience level controls for the user; and Meridian lntelli-Q Data-Driven Equalisation optimises audio playback within the cabin based on data available from the vehicle. Meridian RE-Q Cabin Correction technology removes unwanted cabin resonances.
