Copra Acoustic are a Ukrainian brand making unique acoustic systems from coconuts and concrete.

Copra is the white pulp of the coconut. This word has become their brand name because the coconut shell is part of their speakers, the midrange speaker box is actually a coconut shell.

Copra Acoustics has found that the combination of the not quite symmetrical shape of the coconut with the acoustic-mechanical properties of the cellular structure, with its fibres and microscopic pores, is ideal for acoustics. Another structural material in Copra Acoustic’s arsenal is concrete. From polymer concrete, they make oval-shaped subwoofer enclosures which are non-resonant and static.

COPRA HYDRA

Copra Acoustics launched their first model, the Copra Hydra, in 2019. These speakers combined the concrete sources of low frequencies, with coconut midranges and a ribbon tweeter ‘growing’ on flexible rods.

Copra Hydra is the flagship stereo complete set of two speakers and a multi-channel integrated amplifier with a built-in DAC. Each of the two 3-way floorstanding speakers includes a ribbon tweeter, four long-throw midrange drivers with neodymium magnets and a subwoofer. Its oval polymer concrete cabinet has a movable woofer at the top and a long-throw subwoofer at the bottom.

Copra Hydra

Each midrange driver is housed in a patented EE endocarp™ enclosure made of coconut. The tweeter and midrange sources are mounted on flexible rods mounted on the subwoofer cabinet in a patented 5-D DS configuration. So you can change the relative position of these sources in space, adjust the sound of the system and even its appearance.  The subwoofer enclosure is made of CS™ polymer concrete. The Hydra speakers are complemented by QA Quadro-Amping™ digital multi-channel amplifier that delivers up to 500A of surge current for the low-frequency spectrum and over 1MHz of carrier frequency for high-frequency accuracy. . The amplifier includes a DAC based on an ESS Saber PRO 32 Bit chip.

COPRA CYCLOPS

The brand’s next work is Cyclops. It is a completely different speaker but one that still is unmistakeably by Copra Acoustics. Copra Cyclops is triphonic. Its satellites are long-throw neodymium drivers in coconuts, complemented by ribbon super tweeters. These are set on elegant stands. The satellites are complemented by a branded polymer concrete subwoofer. The system amplifier is combined with a multimedia computer that provides streaming and multiroom.

Cyclops is designed for small rooms or for creating a musical atmosphere in public spaces. The system requires virtually no additional components, everything is included, including digital sources built into the amplifier. The system uses the technology of the flagship model, Hydra.

STREAMING

The amplifier includes a DAC based on the ESS Saber, which provides signal processing up to 24-bit/192kHz Hi-Res Audio. An RJ45 LAN connection and Wi-Fi dual band module will allow the built-in multimedia computer, to provide work with Multiroom and multizone, NAS and online streaming services, smart devices, USB drive (FLAC / MP3 / AAC / AAC + / ALAC / APE /WAV), UPnP and DLNA protocols, connection to PC/MAc directly as an external HD sound card.

The Copra Cyclops is Airplay 2 Compatible and supports Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, Qplay, Amazon Music, Deezer, internet radio, iHeartRadio, Napster, TuneIn and more. For wireless music streaming from smartphones and other compatible devices, Bluetooth 5.0 with Aptx HD support is provided. Cable connections  available are  an RCA analogue input, S/PDIF coax and optical input. You can use the remote control to control the system and iOS and Android apps are available as well.
