Inspired by the M6x DAC, the M3x delivers near-M6 series performance at a more affordable price point. It utilizes an up-sampling DAC design featuring the Burr Brown SRC4392 sample rate converter, which re-clocks PCM signals to 24-bit/192 kHz, ensuring enhanced digital music playback with minimal distortion.

RCA AND BALANCED XLR

Equipped with the PCM1795 DAC, the M3x supports PCM rates up to 24 bits/192 kHz and native/DoP DSD up to DSD256. DSD files are played back in their original format without up-sampling. The M3x features single-ended RCA and balanced XLR outputs with separate output buffers, delivering audio performance with low noise.

SUPER SILENT POWER TRANSFORMER

Musical Fidelity has incorporated their Super Silent Power Transformer into the M3x DAC. This toroidal transformer, designed for audio applications, reduces electromagnetic radiation and eliminates interference and transformer hum, contributing to clean audio output.

OPTIMAL FUNCTIONALITY

The M3x DAC employs precise PCB design and layout tailored to the unique requirements of digital-to-analogue converters. Musical Fidelity focuses on optimal functionality rather than flashy aesthetics.

Mechanically, the M3x DAC features a sturdy and rigid design. The front panel is milled from an extruded aluminium profile, while the heavy steel case protects internal components from external electromagnetic fields. This design also prevents electromagnetic interference from affecting other HiFi equipment.

The Musical Fidelity M3x DAC will be available in the UK from July 2023, priced at £1,349. Henley Audio serves as the distributor for Musical Fidelity in the UK and the Republic of Ireland.
