Deco Audio Products launch CURVE Standard Phono Stage, STEP Standard Step Up Transformer, and Governor Turntable Power Supply.

Great Britain-based audio equipment manufacturer, Deco Audio Products, has just announced the launch of three new products for vinyl fans. They are the CURVE Standard MM Phono Stage, the STEP Standard Step Up Transformer, and the Governor Turntable Power Supply.

Deco Audio Products’, a manufacturing offshoot of Deco Audio, which was established in 2010 as a specialist HiFi retailer with service and modification facilities.

Over the last few years, they have been developing their own product range, and 2023 sees the culmination of this. The products are all designed and manufactured in Deco Audio’s premises in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire and are available exclusively from them online and in store.

DECO AUDIO PRODUCTS CURVE STANDARD MM PHONO STAGE

The CURVE Standard is a brand-new MM phono stage made in Great Britain, this phono stage features an all-triode valve circuit, utilising ECC83 and ECC82 valves. Its passive RIAA equalisation network is designed to ensure accurate audio reproduction.

One standout feature is the switchable low and high impedance output stage, allowing compatibility with various amplifier loads. You can choose between Anode Follower and Cathode Follower output stages with a simple switch.

Relay switching is employed for shorter signal paths, and carefully auditioned components like film capacitors and carbon resistors strike the balance between performance and value for money.

The Deco Audio Products CURVE Standard boasts a compact half-width aluminium chassis with an acrylic fascia and portal window for a sleek appearance. The linear power supply, featuring an oversized toroidal transformer, gives stable and clean power delivery.

This model is part of Deco Audio Products’ Standard tier of products, aimed at providing maximum performance and value for money. For those with MC cartridges, a matching STEP Standard 20 step up transformer is also available.

DECO AUDIO PRODUCTS STEP STANDARD STEP UP TRANSFORMER

The STEP Standard is a newly introduced Step Up transformer tailored for MC cartridges, allowing integration into MM phono inputs. Hand-assembled in Deco Audio Products’ Aylesbury facility in Buckinghamshire, this step-up transformer is equipped with UK-sourced custom-made transformers chosen after extensive listening tests. With a 1:20 ratio, it is an ideal match for most normal to low output MC cartridges. When connected to a standard 47k MM phono input, the STEP Standard presents the cartridge with a 100 Ohm impedance, suitable for the majority of common MC designs. This configuration results in a powerful output, improving the signal-to-noise ratio of your phono stage.

To keep costs competitive without compromising performance, black anodised aluminium enclosures house bulk-made transformers. Copper-wired transformers feature high-quality copper hookup wire and gold-plated RCA sockets.

For those seeking to enhance their turntable setup, the Governor Turntable Power Supply is compatible with most turntables that rely on an AC motor directly connected to the mains, the Governor is a near-universal design.

Offering both 33.3 and 45rpm switching with independent fine speed adjustment for each speed, this all-analogue circuitry eschews DSP, class D, and switch mode power supplies for a purer audio signal. The high-power design is transformer-coupled and conservatively rated for up to 30W output, allowing for balanced torque and vibration for improved performance. An analogue meter displays the output voltage, ensuring precise adjustments.

It’s designed with a neat half-width chassis with an acrylic fascia. The Governor is compatible with a wide range of turntables, including models from Rega, Linn, Garrard, Nottingham Analogue, Lenco, Systemdek, Thorens, and more.
