EPOS, the renowned English speaker manufacturer, is now entering a new era under visionary leadership. EPOS has etched its name in the annals of hi-fi history since its inception in 1983 by the innovative mind of Robin Marshall. Since 1988, during the Mordaunt Short period, up until two decades of success led by Michael Creek, founder of Creek Audio, EPOS has been a pioneering presence in the realm of speakers.
In 2020, a new chapter unfolded as Karl-Heinz Fink, the driving force behind German speaker development company FinkTeam and head of acoustic design consultancy Fink Audio Consulting, took the reins of EPOS. Motivated by EPOS’s design philosophy, Fink aimed to combine tradition and modernity, giving the brand a fresh perspective.
At the 2022 High End trade fair, EPOS presented its first masterpiece of the renaissance, showcasing their dedication to sonic innovation.
Introducing the EPOS ES-14N, a remarkable product that redefined excellence in its price bracket over a year ago. Leading magazines have given high praise to the exceptional performance and innovative features of the ES-14, which we created to revive the spirit of EPOS. This 2-way speaker is housed in a classic cabinet designed for dedicated stands and showcases our commitment to timeless design, which complements the pure sound.
Diving into the ES-14’s original design uncovers an expertly coordinated assembly of parts, such as a 7-inch woofer with a Polypropylene cone and underhung coil, which work together to produce a distinctive response curve. The woofer’s non-standard size deviates from the norm, allowing for greater power at lower frequencies comparable to an 8-inch woofer, while still retaining a mid-range character similar to that of a 6.5-inch woofer.
The redesigned EPOS ES-14 blends timeless aesthetics with cutting-edge design and construction methods, providing audiophiles with an exceptional sonic journey and upholding EPOS’s standing in the audio sector.
