Musical Fidelity has expanded its M-Series lineup with the new M8x Vinyl phono preamplifier, designed for serious vinyl enthusiasts.

Building on the foundation of the M6x Vinyl and incorporating features from the premium Nu-Vista Vinyl 2, the M8x Vinyl offers reference-class performance and is available in the UK through Henley Audio’s dealer network.

MUSICAL FIDELITY M8X VINYL DESIGNED FOR VERSATILITY AND PRECISION

The M8x Vinyl supports both moving magnet (MM) and moving coil (MC) cartridges, with adjustable gain up to 69dB, selectable impedance, and capacitance settings. Its three equalisation curves – RIAA, Decca, and Columbia – allow precise playback across diverse record collections, offering a tailored listening experience.

TECHNOLOGICAL REFINEMENTS IN THE MUSICAL FIDELITY M8X VINYL

This fully discrete and balanced preamp eliminates integrated circuits in the audio path, resulting in purer sound with minimal distortion. Musical Fidelity’s split-passive EQ stage ensures accurate frequency reproduction, while the dual symmetrical power supplies maintain clean power delivery. Subsonic filters and noise-blocking circuits contribute to its ultra-low noise floor, even at high gain.

PRACTICALITY MEETS PREMIUM DESIGN

The M8x Vinyl is built for flexibility, with separate balanced (XLR) and unbalanced (RCA) inputs and outputs, which can operate simultaneously. The robust aluminium chassis protects internal components, while user-friendly front-panel controls allow quick adjustments. Settings are saved for each input, making it easy to switch between multiple tonearms or turntables.
