CHORD COMPANY PHONOARAY EARTHING DEVICE LAUNCHED
British cable specialist Chord Company has launched the Chord Company PhonoARAY Earthing Device, a high-performance earthing system designed to enhance turntable performance.
Marking the company’s 40th anniversary, this new solution aims to reduce interference and improve signal clarity for vinyl enthusiasts.
HOW THE CHORD COMPANY PHONOARAY WORKS
Chord Company tells us that the PhonoARAY is a standalone filtering device that connects a turntable’s earth terminal to a phono stage or amplifier phono input. By employing a hand-wound, ultra-high-current series filter alongside Chord Company’s proprietary ARAY system, it creates a ‘double virtual earth system’ that shields sensitive signals from external interference.

COMPATIBILITY AND CONNECTIONS
Chord Company PhonoARAY Earthing Device features two high-quality 4 mm speaker-style terminals, compatible with both banana and spade connectors. It comes supplied with a 50 cm screened earth cable (4 mm to spade connector) and can be used in a variety of turntable setups, including those with built-in or external phono stages. For systems with a separate phono stage, an additional PhonoARAY can be introduced to link the phono stage earth to the amplifier earth for further performance gains, say Chord.
DESIGN AND BUILD QUALITY
Encased in a thick-walled aluminium billet enclosure, the PhonoARAY benefits from excellent electrical and acoustic isolation. A resin-filled interior reduces microphony, while lightweight decoupled isolation feet help to minimise vibrations, ensuring stability and durability in high-end audio systems.
CHORD COMPANY PHONOARAY EARTHING DEVICE PRICE AND AVAILABILITY
The Chord Company PhonoARAY is available now at an RRP of £1,000.
