FIIO FX17 FLAGSHIP IN-EAR MONITORS ANNOUNCED

FiiO has unveiled its latest flagship in-ear monitor, the FiiO FX17, with an advanced hybrid driver system.

Each earpiece houses one dynamic driver, four balanced armature drivers, and eight electrostatic drivers, all working in unison via a precisely tuned five-way crossover.

EIGHT ELECTROSTATIC DRIVERS FOR HIGH-FREQUENCY DETAIL

The FX17’s eight electrostatic drivers are designed to handle high and ultra-high frequencies beyond 6kHz, extending up to 50kHz. Electrostatic drivers typically suffer from low sensitivity, but FiiO has addressed this with an array of units that enhance sound pressure levels.

FOUR CUSTOM KNOWLES BALANCED ARMATURE DRIVERS

FiiO has collaborated with Knowles to develop custom balanced armature drivers tailored for mid and high frequencies. These units are divided into two sections: one dedicated to mids and the other to mid-highs. The integration of acoustic vents in the rear cavity enhances midrange energy, aiming to deliver more natural and refined vocals.

LITHIUM-MAGNESIUM ALLOY DYNAMIC DRIVER

At the heart of the FX17’s low-end performance is a lithium-magnesium alloy diaphragm dynamic driver. This material is exceptionally lightweight yet rigid, minimising distortion while ensuring accurate and responsive bass reproduction. The high internal damping properties further reduce resonance.

PURE TITANIUM CONSTRUCTION

The FX17 features an elegantly designed housing, precision-milled from a single block of high-density titanium. The hand-polished finish and curved cavity design prioritise both aesthetics and comfort, reinforcing the FX17’s premium appeal.

HIGH-PURITY CABLE DESIGN

FiiO has employed a unique cable design featuring gold, silver, and copper conductors. These materials are refined at over 1000 degrees and subjected to a secondary purification process, reducing impurities and transmission loss. The resulting cable aims to provide optimal signal transmission and enhanced audio fidelity.

VERSATILE AUDIO CONNECTIVITY

The FX17 ships with three interchangeable audio plugs: a 3.5mm single-ended, a 4.4mm balanced, and a USB-C connector. The USB-C plug includes a built-in DSP decoding chip supporting 32Bit/384kHz PCM, with an 8-band high-precision PEQ available through the FiiO Control app or web interface. This allows users to fine-tune the FX17’s frequency response to their preferences.
