TEAC Corporation has released a new version of firmware (v1.21) for its NT-505 USB DAC/Network Player that allows it to support the Roon music management and listening solution.

Roon is a way to browse digital music files. In essence, it manages digital music files collected on hard drives and networked storage and provides a non-list based experience, using credits, artist relationships, genres, lyrics, concert/tour dates, artwork, and more to allow for an informative navigation and exploration of your library.

Being Roon Ready means that the TEAC network player (also Tidal and MQA-compatible) can discover the system and connect to Roon, with no need for complex network configuration, allowing for bit-perfect delivery of audio to the NT-505’s internal DAC.
