Marantz has announced the NR1200 high-performance stereo network receiver, engineered to deliver music playback from a slim chassis while including all of the modern features and connectivity consumers demand.

The Marantz NR1200 was built as a high-performance two-channel receiver that enables people to enjoy a superior entertainment experience versus a traditional soundbar without making the leap to a multichannel AVR.

Powerful Two-Channel Discrete Amplification

Marantz engineers optimised the NR1200 through extensive listening at dedicated facilities in Europe and Japan. At its heart, the NR1200 features a newly designed high-current 75 watt per channel amplification section. The circuit design features separate, symmetrical left and right power amplifiers sharing a centralised power supply with independent windings for each critical function. This means the power transformer is wired independently from the circuits of the amplifier, preamplifier, wireless module and front display, which improves channel separation, reduces crosstalk and preserves the musical soundstage. Additionally, the stereo receiver features two separate DACs per channel.

Modern Music Streaming, DAB+ Radio, Phono EQ

With HEOS Built-in, users can enjoy music from Spotify, Amazon Music, Tidal, TuneIn Internet Radio and more, or local music file libraries via the HEOS App. It can also deliver music to any room throughout the home using other HEOS-capable speakers, systems or components for a wireless, whole-home entertainment experience. Users can play the same song in every room or select a different song for each connected room. In addition, streaming content can easily be played back via Bluetooth or Apple AirPlay 2. Digital radio can be enjoyed without distortion thanks to the built-in DAB+ tuner, while Vinyl lovers can connect their turntable to the NR1200’s phono input.

Latest HDMI Technology

To most conveniently connect Blu-ray Players, set-top-boxes or gaming consoles, the NR1200 includes 5 HDMI inputs, each one supporting all latest standards, including HDCP 2.3, 4K Ultra HD 60Hz video, 4:4:4 Pure Colour sub-sampling, HLG, High Dynamic Range (HDR10), 21:9 video, 3D and BT.2020 pass-through. Plus, ARC (Audio Return Channel) supports the transmission of audio from the TV with a single HDMI cable, simplifying overall setup. HDMI inputs automatically rename themselves based upon information provided by the source. In addition, the NR1200 will automatically down-mix all surround formats.

Intuitive Voice Control

NR1200 users will enjoy voice control from the leading voice agents such as Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant or Apple Siri. Use verbal commands to initiate music playback, turn the volume up or down, skip to the next track, input selection and more. Users can switch between voice agents or pick a favourite. Functionality varies by voice agent.

Bluetooth Headphone Out

After a firmware update end of 2019, users can easily connect their Bluetooth Headphones to the receiver, owners can also use it at night for not to disturb the neighbours, or to compensate a hearing loss so that the speakers’ volume does not have to be turned up unnecessarily high. Once connected, users can either select to play only through the headphones or simultaneously listen via the speakers even in surround mode and via the headphones in stereo at the same time, with individual volume control on the headphones.

The Marantz NR1200 will be available in September at authorized Marantz retailers in a black or silver-gold finish at £599.
