Primare has announced that the NP5 Prisma network player has received Roon Ready certification from Roon Labs, with an automatic update being launched today.

NP5 Prisma network player incorporates all the functionality found in Primare’s Prisma models. The Prisma bundle of technologies that includes AirPlay 2, Bluetooth®, Chromecast built-in, and Spotify Connect® now includes Roon Ready functionality.

Primare’s NP5 Prisma is now Roon Ready

Roon Ready

“The NP5 Prisma being Roon Ready makes it even easier for everyone in the household to experience high-performance music playback, all managed from familiar devices,” explains Siemen Algra, General Manager at Primare.

Roon is a way to browse, organise, and listen to music. Artist photos, credits, bios, reviews, lyrics, tour dates, and composers are located automatically, then interconnected by links to build a surfable digital magazine. Roon is also a multi-room, multi-user networked audio platform; it offers features such as bit-perfect playback, DSD and PCM upsampling, multichannel support, and Signal Path display.

Primare NP5 Prisma

Specifically designed to be small enough to slip inconspicuously into any system setup, NP5 Prisma can be used with any product with a digital input, whether stereo or multi-channel, Primare or other brands, to provide Roon Ready connectivity and control, making it the network player for virtually any system.

“The broad, multi-purpose nature of the NP5 Prisma created some tricky obstacles for the team at Primare, and we appreciate all the hard work Primare’s team put in to overcome them,” offers Rob Darling, Director of Strategy, Third Party Partnerships at Roon Labs. “Primare has proven to be a great partner, and we look forward to seeing more Prisma models Roon Ready certified in the very near future.”

Further Roon Ready Certifications

Already being prepared for certification is the SC15 Prisma network player and DAC, CD15 Prisma and CD35 Prisma CD and network players, PRE35 Prisma preamplifier, and I15 Prisma, I25 Prisma, and I35 Prisma integrated amplifiers.

Explains Terry Medalen, Marketing Manager at Primare, “The ability to offer Roon has always been a critical component in the development of the Prisma model range, because it gives our customers the most sophisticated media management tool available to enhance the total experience that our products provide.”

What does it mean to be Roon Ready?

Being Roon Ready means that Primare network players transparently discover and connect to Roon without any configuration, and bit-perfect audio is delivered from Roon to your network player.
