ASCENDO IMMERSIVE AUDIO UNVEILS NEW SPEAKER AND SUBWOOFER LINEUP AT CEDIA EXPO 2024
ASCENDO Immersive Audio will debut new products, including the The10 PASSIVE LED PHANTOM VOICE speaker, the DIRECTOR LED Wall Loudspeaker System, and two new subwoofers, The28 SUB SQUARED PRO PASSIVE and The16 SUB PRO PASSIVE, at CEDIA.
These introductions aim to address various challenges in delivering high-quality sound in modern home theatres, especially in environments that feature LED walls and non-acoustically transparent screens.
ASCENDO THE10 PASSIVE LED PHANTOM VOICE
ASCENDO’s The10 PASSIVE LED PHANTOM VOICE speaker is specifically designed for environments where space is at a premium, such as rooms featuring LED or non-perforated projection screens. The speaker’s 12-degree wedge shape is designed for optimal sound dispersion in narrow and shallow spaces, for home cinemas and professional screening rooms. This design is intended to provide high-quality sound coverage, even in setups with only one to three rows of seating.
A key feature of The10 is its use of Digital Signal Processing (DSP) technology, which allows users to manipulate the stereo phantom image vertically. This capability ensures that the voice and sound are centred on the screen, enhancing the immersive experience. The speaker can be easily mounted on walls or ceilings using the included brackets, making installation flexible and straightforward.
ASCENDO DIRECTOR LED WALL LOUDSPEAKER SYSTEM
ASCENDO is also introducing the DIRECTOR LED Wall Loudspeaker System, a flush-mount, in-ceiling solution designed to overcome the unique challenges presented by LED walls in home theatre systems. Unlike traditional acoustically transparent screens that allow speakers to be placed directly behind them, LED walls require an alternative approach for sound placement. The DIRECTOR system employs direct-radiating point source speakers and an asymmetrical, controlled-dispersion pattern waveguide, which is designed to ensure consistent and high-quality sound across all seating positions.
Developed using advanced waveguides tested with 3D printing, the DIRECTOR is capable of reaching over 130dB SPL, providing a robust audio experience while remaining discreetly integrated into the room’s design.
ASCENDO THE28 AND THE16 SUBWOOFERS
Two new subwoofers will also make their debut at the Expo: The28 SUB SQUARED PRO PASSIVE and The16 SUB PRO PASSIVE. The28, a high-powered subwoofer featuring a 28-inch composite sandwich cone, for home theatres. The design, inspired by a discussion between ASCENDO co-managing partner Geoffrey Heinzel and Trinnov CEO Arnaud Laborie, utilises rohacell and advanced composite materials to achieve low-frequency reproduction that extends to single-digit infrasonic levels. With a compact depth of just 12 inches and options for even shallower configurations, The28 is suitable for installation in limited spaces.
The16 SUB PRO PASSIVE is targeted at smaller to medium-sized rooms, offering a 16-inch woofer with a compact form factor. This subwoofer features a rohacell carbon sandwich cone and Santoprene surround, which allows for high excursion and significant air movement despite its smaller size. Capable of handling 1500W RMS power, The16 is designed to integrate smoothly into existing audio setups.
ASCENDO IMMERSIVE AUDIO GMBH
