AX HORN LOUDSPEAKERS RELEASE THE NEW AXJET PRO WITH ADDED BASS
Welsh HiFi brand AX Horn Loudspeakers has spent many years perfecting their design of a compound, front and rear loaded, horn speaker driven by a single full range driver, they have now launched their AXJET Pro.
AX HORN LOUDSPEAKERS AXJET PRO
AX Horn has made continued developments with the AXSUPERJET, using AER drivers from Stuttgart, Germany, producing efficient speakers with a very flat response. However, AX Horn designer Fred Davies was looking for more bass.
Read our behind the Brands interview with Fred Davies here.
HOW LOW CAN YOU GO?
AX Horn Marketing Director Arwen Lehmann-Davies told us: “Although the AXSUPERJET is superb in a domestic environment with sub-woofer for the bottom octave below 70hz, the elusive lowest frequencies have been beyond the ability of the single driver”.
Short of making separate huge PA style bass horns, Fred and Arwen say that it has always proved difficult to achieve very low frequencies at the same dynamic levels as the AXJET.
TAPPED HORN
Now they have achieved it by building a tapped horn into the AXSUPERJET with an aluminium bass driver powered by its own integral sub amplifier, thus creating the new AX Horn Loudspeakers This is the new “holy grail”. Welcome to the AXJET Pro.
