Bassocontinuo, the Italian equipment support manufacturer, has launched a new range of entry-level equipment supports, the Classic Line 2.1.
The new range (which directly replaces the previous Classic Line 2.0) is entirely made in Italy and offers both improved aesthetics and performance over its predecessor.
Italian Made
Bassocontinuo’s goal for the Classic Line 2.1 was to create a versatile range, with an affordable price and “impeccable technical features”. Accordingly, the Classic Line 2.1 now benefits from full modularity (as seen in the company’s upmarket Reference line), enabling owners to build bespoke equipment support specific to their needs; additional shelves can be added in the future to accommodate growing systems.
Hifi & AV
The five-strong Classic Line 2.1 comprises both hifi and A/V racks, plus turntable wall shelves and power amp platforms, in a range of leg heights from 90 mm to 290 mm. Each comes with a five-year guarantee.
Noting today’s diverse and wide-ranging audio equipment, the Classic Line 2.1 also offers additional shelf-height adjustment, thanks to the use of removable leg cylinders. Five and ten centimetre cylinders are available separately to adjust shelf height if needed.
Zero Shaking
A key feature of the Classic 2.1 line is the new ‘zero-shaking’ clamp system, which adds considerable stability compared to the previous design. Further features include a new cosmetic tie-rod cover made by Delrin, plus a new spike design with a stabilising washer for fine-tuning. The Classic 2.1 line has been fully tested by an independent laboratory in collaboration with the Politecnico di Milano.
Walnut & Wenge
In addition to Bassocontinuo’s established Cerbero Black and Iside White finishes, the company has added two new options, Walnut and Wenge, to complement (fellow Italian) Sonus faber loudspeakers. The Classic 2.1 line legs are available in three finishes: dark grey, milky white and silver. The shelves are 25 mm thick with a load capacity from 60 kg.
Price And Availability
The Classic 2.1 line is available now, priced from £440 (per tier)
Bassocontinuo is distributed in the UK by Fine Sounds UK
