BLUESOUND NODE AND NODE ICON: FIRST STREAMERS TO GO DIRAC LIVE READY

Bluesound has introduced Dirac Live readiness to its NODE (N132) and NODE ICON (N530) models, marking a significant milestone as the first streamers equipped with this room correction technology.

A firmware update, available from 14th January 2025 enables this feature.

EXPANDING SUPPORT ACROSS MODELS

Additional Bluesound players, including the NODE X (N131), NODE (N130), POWERNODE (N330), and POWERNODE EDGE (N230), will gain Dirac Live compatibility by mid-2025, broadening accessibility for existing customers.

HOW DIRAC LIVE WORKS WITH BLUESOUND STREAMERS

To utilise Dirac Live, owners will need a Dirac Live licence and Bluesound’s dedicated Room Calibration Kit. This kit includes an omni-directional microphone that captures the full audible frequency range and integrates seamlessly with Dirac Live Ready devices. The kit’s suggested retail price is GBP 39, with licences available in three tiers: Limited (GBP 129), Full (GBP 199), and an upgrade from Limited to Full (GBP 79).

KEY CUSTOMER FEATURES AND FEEDBACK

According to Bluesound, Dirac filters are applied before the internal DAC, allowing benefits for those using external DACs. Matt Simmonds, Bluesound’s Product Manager, highlighted strong customer demand for Dirac Live due to its ability to optimise sound for any room.

Dirac Live’s integration into Bluesound streamers offers a significant leap for audio enthusiasts, transforming even non-Dirac-compatible setups. Rikard Hellerfelt of Dirac emphasised the potential for music lovers to achieve professional-grade sound correction through these products.

The Bluesound Room Calibration Kit is priced at GBP 39, and Dirac Live licences range from GBP 129 to GBP 199, with upgrade options for existing licence holders. Products and kits can be purchased through authorised dealers or directly from Bluesound.
