BØRRESEN C2 & C3: NEW ADDITIONS TO THE C-SERIES

Audio Group Denmark brand Børresen has unveiled two new floor-standing speakers, the Børresen C2 And Børresen C3 Loudspeakers,  expanding the C-Series and bridging the gap between the O- and X-Series.

Designed with advanced driver technology, refined crossovers, and anti-resonance cabinet construction, the new models promise a balance of power and precision.

BØRRESEN C2 AND BØRRESEN C3 LOUDSPEAKERS

Both the C2 and C3 feature Børresen’s DCC5 Neo bass/midrange driver. This unit integrates a neodymium magnet system with dual copper caps to minimise electromagnetic resonance and inductance.

MULTI-LAYERED MEMBRANE FOR VIBRATION CONTROL

The drivers utilise a three-layer membrane structure, combining an aramid honeycomb core with carbon fibre skins. This construction significantly reduces vibrations and resonances, allowing for cleaner and more detailed sound reproduction.

BØRRESEN RP94 RIBBON TWEETER FOR HIGH-FREQUENCY PRECISION

Both speakers are equipped with Børresen’s RP94 Ribbon Planar Tweeter, a signature feature of the brand. With an efficiency of 94 dB and an ultra-light moving mass of just 0.01 grams, this tweeter delivers fast, responsive high frequencies. Cryogenic treatment further enhances conductivity, lowering inductance and refining overall sound reproduction.

BI-WIRING AND BI-AMPING FOR FLEXIBLE SETUP

Børresen has designed the C2 and C3 with a sophisticated crossover that supports bi-wiring and bi-amping. This allows for more precise power distribution, improving clarity, imaging, and spatial depth. Additionally, the speakers are compatible with Aavik active crossovers for enhanced room optimisation.

CABINET DESIGN FOR ENHANCED ACOUSTIC PERFORMANCE

The enclosures feature a combination of reinforced wood composite with carbon fibre panels, optimising structural integrity and reducing unwanted resonances. Internally, 5mm block-milled wood supports further minimise distortion and standing waves. The semi-open chamber design of the midrange drivers enhances decompression, leading to a more expansive soundstage.

ANSUZ TECHNOLOGY INTEGRATION FOR SIGNAL PURITY

Børresen has incorporated key Ansuz technologies into the C-Series, including Tesla coil technology for noise reduction and third-generation Ansuz Dither technology to lower the noise floor. High-conductivity Ansuz wiring is also used.

BØRRESEN C2 AND BØRRESEN C3 DIMENSIONS, SPECIFICATIONS, AND PRICING

The Børresen C2 stands at 1135mm tall, while the larger C3 reaches 1415mm. Both models have a sensitivity of 88 dB and an impedance of >6Ω, making them compatible with amplifiers rated at 50W or more. The C2 and C3 feature a frequency response extending up to 50kHz, with the C2 reaching down to 35Hz and the C3 to 25Hz.

The Børresen C2 is priced at €25,000, while the C3 is available for €35,000. Both models come in a high-gloss black or white finish
