DCS BARTOK NOW GETS THE APEX RING DAC UPGRADE

The dCS Bartok APEX combines DAC, Music Streamer, Upsampler, Pre-amp and Headphone Amplifier into one unit, now with the Ring DAC APEX upgrade that has been applied to the dCS Rossini and Vivaldi lines.

The dCS Bartok APEX will be available as a new product, or as upgrades for existing owners of the dCS Bartok.

Developed from the ground up by dCS engineers, dCS Bartok APEX features a combination of proprietary hardware and software. In 2022, dCS released APEX, a significant update to the Ring DAC’s hardware, which allowed them to enhance further the musical performance of the dCS Vivaldi DAC, Rossini DAC, and Rossini Player. Now dCS has developed an APEX upgrade for Bartók owners.

MAPPER SETTINGS

dCS’s engineers continually research how to improve existing technologies and products. With the recent Bartók 2.0 software update, dCS says they improved DSD upsampling and added new filter options. Mappers originally designed for Vivaldi APEX and Rossini APEX are now available in Bartók. The Mappers control how data is presented to the Ring DAC core. Bartók now includes three Mapper settings. It also includes DSD128 capability and an additional filter setting for DSD.

Additionally, dCS products feature a modular approach to construction. The design allows for future upgradeability, which enables the Cambridge based British HiFi brand to offer new hardware to existing owners. Such was the case with tVivaldi APEX and Rossini APEX. Now, dCSare inviting existing owners to upgrade their Bartóks. Units upgraded to Bartók APEX are identical to the new model in every way, including the APEX nameplate on the rear panel.

The Bartók APEX upgrade program will commence in March 2023. dCS will also issue a one-year warranty on all upgraded units, free of charge. Contact your local dealer for pricing and details of how to upgrade.

The new APEX edition of the dCS Bartók replaces the previous version with immediate effect. UK RRPs are as follows:

dCS Bartók with integrated headphone amp: £21,500
dCS Bartók without integrated headphone amp: £19,000

For Bartók owners in the UK, the upgrade cost is £7,500 per unit and Absolute Sounds will begin taking bookings in March.
