DS  Audio has announced the launch of the DS AudioTB-100, a vacuum valve phono equalizer designed to complement the company’s optical cartridges.

This release marks a significant step in the evolution of DS Audio’s optical technology, blending it with the distinct characteristics of valve amplification.

DS AUDIO TB-100 VALVE PHONO EQUALIZER

The DS Audio TB-100 Valve Phono Equalizer is a dual mono, single-ended design with RCA outputs, incorporating quad-matched ECC82 (12AU7) dual-triode valves. Each channel features its own dedicated input and output valve, ensuring a clean and dynamic audio performance. DS Audio employs proprietary tools to maintain operational consistency, minimising variations within 1% (0.1dB).

WIDEBAND TRANSFORMER INPUT

Utilising a precision wideband transformer, the TB-100 converts the optical cartridge’s photoelectric cell output from a current to a voltage signal, achieving precise phase alignment. Its design ensures a flat frequency response from 10Hz to 70kHz, with minimal deviation, delivering a highly accurate and natural sonic presentation.

TWIN MONO DESIGN

To reduce crosstalk and enhance stereo separation, the TB-100 features a symmetrical twin-mono configuration. Independent ground and power transformers for each channel complete the design..

LOW-NOISE POWER SUPPLY

A dedicated low-noise regulated power supply supports both LED power and the photoelectric cells’ negative bias voltage. With separate transformers for each cell, the TB-100 is designed for enhanced voltage stability, contributing to greater transparency and fidelity.

MADE IN JAPAN

Like all DS Audio products, the TB-100 is handcrafted in Japan. Every component undergoes rigorous in-house testing by DS Audio’s expert technicians.
