ESSENTIAL HIGH END MUNICH 2024 – VERTERE ACOUSTICS AT MOTORWORLD
Essential High End Munich 2024 is a series of promotional articles about the HiFi brands you really need to visit at the show. Read on for more about their philosophy, their products, what they are bringing to Munich and, of course, where they will be…in this case exhibiting at the show opposite the MOC at MotorWorld.
VERTERE HEADS TO MUNICH TO SHOWCASE TWO BRAND NEW, EXCITING PRODUCT ADDITIONS
This May, Vertere Acoustics is making the trip out to Munich for Europe’s biggest HiFi event. Coinciding with Munich High End 2024, we’re going to be bringing the very best in analogue listening to MotorWorld, an incredible venue located just across the street from the MOC.
Whilst we’re there, we’ll be revealing two new, potentially game-changing additions to the Vertere product line. In their own ways, both products represent new heights of Vertere excellence, and as such we’re incredibly excited to share them with you for the very first time.
In this article, we’ll dive a little deeper into what we have in store at MotorWorld from 9th – 12th May, and what you can expect to see from the Vertere exhibition. Along the way, we’ll touch on one of the key themes we’ll be focusing on throughout the show – a theme that holds our two new product additions at its very heart.
VERTERE & MOTORWORLD
Like many premium audio brands, Munich High End is one of the highlights of our extensive show calendar. There’s no European audio show quite like it for sheer size and scale – and every year, we look forward to the opportunity to bring our fundamentals-focused products and philosophy to the Bavarian capital. This year, however, we decided to take a break from the bustling MOC, instead basing ourselves at MotorWorld, a stunning museum and hotel located directly opposite the MOC’s main entrance.
In MotorWorld, you couldn’t ask for a better venue for a HiFi trade show. The building features a jaw-dropping collection of classic and modern sports cars, displayed in incredible glass display cases throughout. There’s great dining and drinking options and plenty of space to sit down and take in the incredible facility. This is what will surround the Vertere Acoustics exhibition space.
You’ll find us in the Walter Rohrl Suite at MotorWorld, just upstairs from our good friends at Kudos Audio. And we won’t be alone – a whole host of leading audio brands will be found on standalone exhibits or featured in systems throughout MotorWorld from the 9th – 12th May. These include Kii Audio, AVM Audio, Zuma Array, Chord Electronics, Linn, Innuos, AudioQuest, PMC Loudspeakers, FM Acoustics, Gold Note and more.
From the Vertere Exhibition in the Walter Rohrl Suite, we’ll offer attendees the opportunity to see and hear our new next-gen cartridges XtraX and Dark Sabre, as well as offering a first look at those TWO exciting new additions to the Vertere product line.
All this will be presented as part of a stunning sound system featuring PMC Fenestria loudspeakers, FM Acoustics 266 MkII-RC Preamp and FM-111 Mono Amps, Vertere HB Cabling, and a Vertere record player.
Entry to the exhibition at MotorWorld will be completely free of charge, so there’s no need to worry about purchasing two sets of tickets. In fact, we like to think of MotorWorld as your perfect wind-down space from the energy and hustle of the MOC. We’ll be open each day until 7pm – so once you’re finished at High End, or you’re looking for a quiet space for some lunch, we welcome you to head across for a relaxing drink, chat, and listen in a simply stunning space.
So what will we have in store for those attending our exhibition at MotorWorld? Whilst we can’t dive too deep into those two new product additions (you’ll have to come and see them for yourself!), we can give you a sense of one of our fundamental themes for this year’s Munich show…
HOW TO EFFECTIVELY LEVEL-UP YOUR ANALOGUE SYSTEM
The above might seem like a fairly simple, maybe even arbitrary, statement. But in today’s premium audio industry, it’s anything but. We here at Vertere believe that, oftentimes, there are inherent flaws in the way our industry talks about premium audio products. One such HiFi misconception involves how we approach upgrades within our listening systems.
When it comes to improving the sonic quality of a HiFi system, attention often turns to the big, flashy, premium priced products. Your loudspeakers, your record player, your streamer, your amplifiers. But dig deeper into the inner workings of an already high-performance system, and you’ll find there are often sizable gains to be achieved from less headline-grabbing components in the signal chain.
This granular, fundamentals-focused approach has become a guiding philosophy for us here at Vertere. We’ve long held to the opinion that your ‘analogue source’ represents so much more than just your record player. We see the analogue source as a comprehensive package of equally crucial components. The deck, tone arm, cartridge, motor driver, phono stage, and cabling – together, all these elements contribute to the performance of your analogue source. By seeing all these components as equally important in the quality of your analogue playback, we can achieve remarkable improvements in sonic reproduction by turning our attention to one or more of them. You’ll see a perfect example of this philosophy in two products we launched late last year – our new, next-generation cartridges, XtraX MC and Dark Sabre MM – both of which will be on display at MotorWorld.
The XtraX represents a significant leap forward in the design development of Vertere cartridges – the most sonically impressive moving coil cartridge we’ve ever produced. Internally, the XtraX features a brand new micro-elliptical stylus, tooled from solid, nude diamond, and fitted to a telescopic cantilever for ever more precise control. In order to match the rich refinement of these new internal components, the XtraX outer shell has been completely re-optimised and re-designed from the ground up, and machined from a single piece of aluminium. XtraX ‘floats’ its generator at four fixing points that are precisely calibrated for peak performance, and an alignment ridge perfectly matches XtraX with the tone arm.
Dark Sabre builds on the successes of its much-loved sister cartridge, Sabre, whilst simultaneously introducing a revolutionary new level of musical clarity and definition never before experienced in a moving magnet design. Both Sabre and Dark Sabre share the same generator, but a new fixing technique and cartridge profile in Dark Sabre has allowed for a profound performance improvement on its older sibling. A quad point screw formation on a newly designed, single-piece aluminium chassis allows Dark Sabre to distribute its weight much more evenly and effectively. To complement this new design, Dark Sabre employs a steeper cartridge profile, resulting in a much more consistent contact with the vinyl surface.
Both XtraX and Dark Sabre represent opportunities for analogue music lovers to seriously elevate the performance of their premium analogue source, past any previously imagined point of sonic excellence. Not through a wholesale replacement of your record player, but by simply upgrading the foremost point of contact with your vinyl – the cartridge.
TWO NEW, GAME-CHANGING VERTERE PRODUCTS
This process of careful, fundamentals-focused improvement is where we’ve continued to train our focus with our two latest product additions. In their own, unique ways, both represent the opportunity to take a very good system, and elevate it to a whole new level. We hope these two new products demonstrate how far analogue systems can go – and that you don’t necessarily need to make drastic changes to your system to get incredibly close to ‘reference level’ results.
