Goldmund, Pinel et Pinel, and Cyril Kongo collaborate on Limited Edition Speaker Sculptures.

Goldmund, the Swiss audio manufacturer, has teamed up with luxury trunk maker Pinel et Pinel and contemporary artist Cyril Kongo to create the Apologue Ultimate Pinel et Pinel & Cyril Kongo edition speakers.

Limited to only 20 pairs, these speakers combine high-fidelity sound with artistic craftsmanship, turning each unit into a unique sound sculpture.

Originally selected by MoMA in 1987 for its design, the Apologue speaker has evolved through the years. This new edition is wrapped in smooth calfskin leather by Pinel et Pinel and painted by Kongo, with each speaker weighing over 300 kg and incorporating hand-stitched, 16-metre leather seams. Kongo’s intricate painting is applied to flat leather pieces, which are later assembled into a seamless artistic design, resulting in a one-of-a-kind look for each pair.

The speakers are designed to deliver exceptional sound with advanced Goldmund technology. Each speaker includes a super tweeter, tweeter, two midrange drivers, and two 12-inch woofers. They also feature an integrated amplifier with dedicated power for each drive, ranging from 300W for the super tweeter to 700W for each woofer.

Aimed at collectors and audio enthusiasts, particularly in Asia, this collaboration blends high-end audio with urban art and luxury craftsmanship, with a price tag of  $3M AUD inc GST / $1.77M USD ex tax / €1.5M EUR ex tax.

There will be 20 pairs of Goldmund Apologue Pinel et Pinel x Kongo Speakers in total. Currently there is one pair in pink and one pair in blue, all future pairs will be in the creative hands of Kongo and could be any colour.
