Guangzhou AV Fair 2021

GUANGZHOU AV FAIR 2021

Reports are coming in, as yet unconfirmed by the organisers, that the Guangzhou AV Fair 2021, or Guangzhou High End Show as it is sometimes known,  in China was shut down over the weekend.

The HiFi Show held annually in Guangzhou was reportedly shut down after just 24 hours by officials from the centre of disease and infections, our source tells us. There were in the region of 50 reported positive cases of Covid 19, though our source believes the numbers are actually much higher.

As things are starting to open up more in Europe and the USA, what does this mean for the shows that are hoping to be held in the coming weeks and months?

Are things moving too fast towards ‘normality?  While we are all hoping to be attending a HiFi Show soon, being able to see friends, colleagues and clients and conduct face-to-face business, it is a delicate balancing act, and a very difficult decision for show organisers to take. Do they go ahead or follow the lead of shows like High End Munich and NWAS, completely cancelling their events in 2021?.
