WERE YOU FOOLED BY THE HIFI INDUSTRY’S APRIL 1ST STORIES?
Are you trying to order yourself a roll of Stewart McIntosh Audio AcoustiTartan? Or did you realise that the HiFi Piggies were pulling your trotter?
There have been some cracking April Fools jokes this year from the HiF Industry here is a selection of some of the best ones we spotted.
And you can find out more about the revolutionary SMA AcoustiTartan here!
CHORD COMPANY LUGX AUDIO DEGREASER
In Wiltshire, England, British cable manufacturer Chord Company has applied its near-40-year accessory expertise to (literally) produce “a solution for better-sounding music: LugX Audio Degreaser”.
The team told us that LugX has been “specially formulated by Chord Company’s clean-eared technicians to remove stubborn debris and greasy residue from even the most unkempt ears”.
Leading scientists at the Pinner institute in Middlesex have proven beyond doubt that dirty ear canals can impair musical enjoyment, a fact that has been reinforced during Chord Company’s partnership with emollient geologist (and TV chef) Marco Delamari and a large industrial waste processing company, throughout LugX’s development.
Did Chord Co fool you with their unique recipe featuring an ARAY of recycled ingredients including volcanic sand, flange swarf, underground pond water and walnuts, all combined with the company’s unique and secret bonding agent/emulsifier? They gave us a laugh!
AUDIO T PARTNER WITH LINN, AUDIO NOTE UK…AND ANNOUNCE A REVOLUTIONARY PRODUCT OF THEIR OWN
HiFi retail group Audio T were very bust for April 1st, with, not only a partnership with Linn to launch the Linn Sondek LIP12 Tartan Kloth Edition (which would work very well in a room treated with AcoustiTartan) but also with Audio Note UK to produce the new edition of Audio Note Cobra with scented valves. They also were able to bring us a stunning new HiFi Paint, in Acoustic White.
Well played Audio T!
ACOUSTIC ENERGY LAUNCHES THE NEW 100E SERIES
On April 1st British loudspeaker brand, Acoustic Energy announced the launch of the all-new 100 eSeries.
Several months ago they employed a bunch of technical boffins to put the Emoticon into HiFi. The result say AE, is the 100 eSeries. Using some clever detects the genre of music you are listening to. The really, really clever part is that this tech then converts that genre into the relevant Emoticon and projects it onto the speaker drivers.
Head of the Boffin department commented “It’s really going to change the mood when people are listening to music. For example if you play rock and you’ll get the explosion emoji, play party songs and get party hats and balloons, play sad songs and they’ll cry, and play Celine Dion and, well they’ll just shut down as nobody needs that.”
It certainly made us giggle!
TECHNICS SL-1200B BELT DRIVE TURNTABLE
Well, we nearly spat our coffee out when we saw this one…a belt drive version of the world’s most well-known turntable, surely not?!
HiFi Pig Says: We hope you laughed as hard as we did, great to see so many HiFi Industry veterans enjoying a giggle this weekend.
