Australian-born, London-based songwriter, producer and composer Jackson Mico Milas, who rose to prominence with indie pop outfit the HIGH HIGHS and as a composer of numerous TV and film scores including Tim Minchin’s acclaimed Sky Atlantic drama Upright, will release his debut solo EP on 7th August.

First single “For Every Coast” is out now, exploring the warmth of a relationship and the coldness of distance. The music video will follow in due course.

The 4-track EP documents Milas’s journey as a musician and composer, focusing thematically on displacement and loneliness.  Having settled in different cities around the world, he felt it should reflect a sense of isolation that he’d felt in each city, focusing on the fact that this forced him to collaborate remotely with friends and musicians across the globe; something that is becoming increasingly more prevalent.

Having explored a myriad of genres throughout his career, including with the indie-pop outfit the HIGH HIGHS, which saw him tour internationally with the likes of Vampire Weekend and Empire Of The Sun, and as an award-winning composer of film and TV scores, Milas is now delving into his most intimate styling yet with the For Every Coast EP – an accomplished 4-track collection that blends acoustic, alt-folk and jazz.
