Daniel Fajkis, the CEO of Malbork, got in touch to tell us more about the brand and its distinctive-looking Malbork Warsaw loudspeakers.

Malbork is named after a castle in Poland and was founded with the idea to break the standard for acoustical design and provide clients with not just a speaker, but rather a sculpture.

CNC MACHINED ALUMINIUM

Production of the Malbork Warsaw speakers is intensive, with three weeks of continuous CNC machining to make the aluminium bodies for just one pair of speakers. Each speaker starts off as 220 lbs of solid aluminium, which after machining comes down to 100 lbs remaining for the actual speaker.

RIBBON TWEETER

Daniel tells us that the use of aluminium as enclosures allows for superb rigidity, allowing for tight bass response, as well as powerful midrange reproduction. The tapered cylindrical internal chamber geometry is engineered to nullify resonances by having no walls off of which standing waves can reflect. The chambers are also generously lined with fiberglass insulation to further dampen the enclosures. The areo-striction ribbon tweeter is placed in an open-back enclosure, which takes advantage of its rear-firing capabilities, deepening the soundstage as the high frequencies reflect off the back wall of the listening room.

TRI-AMPING

The Malbork Warsaw speaker is also designed to be tri-amped, having three pairs of terminals on the rear of the woofer chamber for a personalised listening experience for those who demand it. When not in use, the speaker comes with high-purity solid copper machined bridges to bridge the inputs together for use with only one amplifier.
