MCINTOSH DS200 STREAMING DAC RELEASED

McIntosh Labs has unveiled the McIntosh DS200 Streaming DAC, a new addition to its lineup of high-end audio components.

Designed for listeners who already own compatible amplifiers and preamplifiers, the DS200 serves as a dedicated high-quality streaming solution.

MCINTOSH DS200 STREAMING DAC

McIntosh DS200 Streaming DAC supports a variety of streaming platforms, including Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Apple AirPlay 2, Bluetooth, and Google Cast. With two Wi-Fi antennas, a Bluetooth antenna, and an Ethernet port, it ensures stable connectivity for seamless playback. The DS200 is also compatible with Google Assistant for voice control.

DIGITAL TO ANALOGUE CONVERSION

At its core, the McIntosh DS200 Streaming DAC features a Quad Balanced 8-channel, 32-bit DAC, offering a wide dynamic range and low distortion. As a Roon Ready and Roon Tested device, it integrates smoothly with Roon’s music player, delivering an enhanced listening experience with detailed metadata and certified streaming technology.

VERSATILE DIGITAL INPUTS AND AUDIO FORMATS

Equipped with eight digital audio inputs, the McIntosh DS200 Streaming DAC supports high-resolution playback, including DSD512 and DXD up to 384kHz via USB, and 24-bit/192kHz via coaxial and optical inputs. The HDMI (ARC) input allows users to enhance TV and movie audio by converting Dolby and DTS multi-channel formats into high-quality two-channel sound.

BALANCED AND UNBALANCED OUTPUTS

The McIntosh DS200 Streaming DAC includes both balanced and unbalanced analogue outputs, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of audio systems. It is factory-set to a fixed output mode but can be switched to variable output mode for direct connection to a power amplifier, enabling volume control within a fully digital setup.

ICONIC MCINTOSH DESIGN AND BUILD

Staying true to McIntosh’s design heritage, the DS200 features a black glass front panel, rotary control knobs, an illuminated logo, and custom-machined aluminium end caps. Additional integration options include a Data IN port, Power Control ports, and an RS232 Control port for advanced system setups. A remote control is included.

MCINTOSH DS200 STREAMING DAC AVAILABILITY AND PRICING

The McIntosh DS200 Streaming DAC will be available from March through authorised McIntosh dealers. It is priced at £5,890 GBP / €5,990 EUR.
