The new music search and metadata tool, Melco Intelligent Music Library, plus the new black-finish digital music libraries revealed for the first time in the UK at the North West Audio Show 2019

Melco, the digital music storage manufacturer, will be introducing its powerful new search and metadata tool, Melco Intelligent Music Library, plus its new black-finish compact-chassis digital music libraries for the first time in the UK, at the North West Audio Show 2019

Melco N10 & N100

Melco’s recently launched two-box N10 and one-box N100 audiophile digital music libraries will join the existing full-width N1A, N1Z and N1H libraries, in the black finish. The new black option also extends to the D100 audiophile CD loader/transport and the E100 3TB audiophile digital storage drive (modular expansion unit), both of which are designed to complement and expand the capabilities of the space-saving N10 and N100 models, which were launched in 2018.

First seen at High End (Munich) in May, Melco Intelligent Music Library enables simple but powerful music search and selection for playback on any network music player or connected USB DAC, solving the problem of finding (and quickly playing) music in large and varied music collections. The tool will soon be available as a free firmware update for existing Melco users, in addition to being pre-installed on all new machines leaving the factory.

Melco Intelligent Music Library combines a suite of Metadata Engine (SongKong for Melco) and UPnP Server (MinimServer with Intelligent Browsing) for the first time, each precisely tailored to the needs of the other, in order that they operate as a whole; the conventional separation of metadata structure and UPnP server is the root cause of most problems that users experience trying to find music on their servers.

Melco General Manager, Alan Ainslie, will be introducing the technology to the public throughout the weekend in the Acoustica (Melco) room, explaining the myriad benefits for music lovers.

Melco will also be demonstrating the recently released compact-chassis N100 and N10 digital music libraries, which offer class-leading performance (N10) and real-world affordability (N100), along with the full-width N1ZH60. The libraries will be complemented by Melco’s D100 audiophile CD loader/transport.

Acoustica

Melco’s demonstrations will be taking place in the Acoustica room, plus Melco will have a second shared room with Russell K loudspeakers, whose newly launched, British designed and made Red 50 and Red 120 loudspeakers will be available.

Russell Kauffman himself, will be on hand to explain the innovative technology behind the Russell K range and introduce his new stand-mount speaker. Daniel Raggett, Melco’s European General Manager, will also be on hand throughout the event to give expert insight, help and advice.

Price And Availability

N10 £6,750; N100 £1,800; D100 £899; E100 £899 all available now; Melco Intelligent Music Library is free for Melco users (coming soon)
