HiFi PiG ANNOUNCES BRAND NEW AWARD

You may have noticed in the latest review we have published, that the iFi iCan Phantom headphone amplifier has been awarded the Reviewer’s Preference award by Oscar, and we thought we ought to explain a little about why we have created this new award.

In the past, any product that a reviewer thought warranted above Five Hearts would be reviewed fully by them, and then the product (at the discretion and expense of the manufacturer/distributor) would be sent to Stuart and Linette for another full review to determine whether it achieved a sufficient standard to warrant an Editor’s Choice award.

HiFi PiG REVIEWER’S PREFERENCE AWARD

This is still an option for those wishing to spend the extra time waiting for the second review, but we believe that our team of reviewers is sufficiently experienced to decide if a product deserves a higher award than Five Hearts, without the need for a second review and all that it entails….thus the Reviewer’s Preference award was born.

Reviewers will be restricted to awarding no more than 20% of the products they review with this new award so the decision to make that award is well considered and the award well won.
